10% means
To work out 10% of a number, divide by 10.
Example 1
Look at the label.
How much does the shirt cost now?
10% of £30 = 30 ÷ 10 = £3.
The price of the shirt is reduced by £3.
£30 - £3 = £27.
The price of the shirt is now £27.
Example 2
How much does the jumper cost now?
10% of £20 = 20 ÷ 10 = £
